Being one of the oldest players in the youngest form of cricket is not easy. When the Indian Premier League was born, one of the greatest players of the shortest format was almost playing very few ODIs.

Even though it is unfair to compare, the records of Tendulkar in Twenty20 would have been different had he played it during his younger days. Tendulkar was far more aggressive and more devastating making him more suited for T20 when he was young.

Despite being cautious, the Little Master still enjoyed the rigours and the excitement of the T20 game. Here we look at his five best innings.

1.       100* against Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011

Undoubtedly, his lone century in the T20 format tops the list. Even though Kochi chansed Mumbai’s total of 182, this is Master Blaster’s best T20 innings.

2.       89* against Rajasthan Royals in 2010

Sachin Tendulkar shored up Mumbai Indians yet again with his fifth half-century of the IPL that all but guaranteed them a place in the semi-final and took him to the top of the run-charts in the tournament.

3.       74 against Chennai Super Kings in 2012

The maestro signaled his return to top form with 11 boundaries, and a six off Albie Morkel that was caressed all the way over fine leg. This was Sachin’s first fifty of the season and last 44 balls.

4.       69 against Highveld Lions in 2010

Once again as usual, Sachin Tendulkar’s innings ended in a losing cause. Sachin scored 42-ball 69, but Lions stunned Mumbai Indians in the Champions League match held in South Africa.

5.       68 against KKR in 2009

Scored 68 runs (4 sixes and 6 fours) off just 45 balls in a match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Port Elizabeth.
